The Australian National Kennel Council and its Member Bodies endorse the right of the individual to own, keep and breed dogs in a responsible and humane manner to the benefit of both dog and society.

Manís attachment to the canine race is long standing and, through close association, "manís best friend" has gained a unique position in the animal kingdom. He can be, at any one time, work-mate, team-player, slave, protector of life and property or Court Jester.

Our members, as individuals, believe that it is their right to continue to further the precepts of their forebears. They are encouraged to produce dogs of value whilst endorsing and furthering the concepts of soundness, of both mind and body, necessary for the maintenance of our existing healthy relationship with dogs.
